CommunityAmerica Financial Solutions, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of CommunityAmerica Credit Union, was formed in 2001 to offer a comprehensive suite of financial planning services enabling its members to achieve financial peace of mind.

Today CommunityAmerica Financial Solutions is one of the only credit union-owned, broker-dealer RIA firms working directly with other credit unions and their Advisors to provide members with the best financial advisory tools and services.

Who We Are

Our Leadership Team

Mike Haggerty serves as President of CommunityAmerica Financial Solutions which he has played a key role in building over the past fifteen years. He has collectively spent more than two decades in the investment industry serving in various capacities. Prior to joining the credit union, Mike was a financial advisor with Smith Barney and began his career in the financial services arm of KPMG. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Accounting and is a Certified Financial Planner professional. Mike supports multiple local charities and sits on the board of directors for Catholic Charities in Kansas City. He and his wife have five children.

Justin Steitz serves as Chief Operating Officer of CommunityAmerica Financial Solutions. In this role, he leads investment operations, compliance, and audit for the CommunityAmerica advisor channel as well as the broker-dealer business unit. Before assuming this role in July 2013, Justin served as the chief compliance officer for Ausdal Financial Partners, Inc., leading the effort to build an in-house broker-dealer. He began his career in an audit capacity with FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) where he spent seven years. Justin graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a BS in Finance. He and his wife have four kids.

Alyssa Akers serves as Vice President, Risk and Business Administration. In this role, she leads the compliance, supervision, operations, and advisory services teams. Before joining CommunityAmerica in September 2019, Alyssa spent almost 12 years at Waddell & Reed, Inc. as a senior member of the Compliance Department. She started her career at FINRA where she spent eight years on the regulatory side of the industry. Alyssa graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Finance and BA in German and obtained her MBA from Rockhurst University. Alyssa is also a graduate of the FINRA Institute’s Certified Compliance & Regulatory Professional (CRCP)® program. Alyssa is married and enjoys traveling, golf, and spending time with family and friends.

Kathryn Anastasio serves as Vice President of Marketing for CommunityAmerica CUSO One, LLC, the parent company of CommunityAmerica Financial Solutions (CAFS). In this role she oversees the B2B and B2B2C marketing for CAFS, helping expand the visibility and reach of CAFS to credit unions so they can maximize their investment business. Prior to assuming this role, Kathryn worked for more than 14 years in marketing for various Financial Services companies. She graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Marketing and obtained her MBA from Baker University. She and her husband have two children, and enjoy archery, cooking and spending time at the lake.
